The Ordinary General Assembly of the Professional Football League was held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the National Army Club in Beni Messous, in an atmosphere marked by responsibility and professionalism, with the all presidents and representatives of professional clubs, a representative of the Algerian Football Federation, as well as members of the national media.
The session was opened by the Secretary General of the League, Mr. Mourad Boussafer, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of this annual meeting, which provides an opportunity to present and evaluate the past year’s achievements, review administrative and financial aspects, and discuss future prospects and upcoming work programs, before announcing that the legal quorum had been reached with 21 out of 23 members present. The proceedings began with the national anthem, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the former Algerian President, the late Liamine Zeroual.
In his speech, the President of the Professional Football League, Mr. Mohamed el Amine Mesloug, expressed his thanks and appreciation to all attendees, particularly club presidents and General Assembly members, stressing that this meeting represents a key milestone for assessing achievements, correcting course, and strengthening consultation and exchange of ideas to serve the development of professional football. He also affirmed that the holding of this assembly is part of strengthening the principles of transparency and good governance, as well as enhancing cooperation between the League and clubs to raise the level of national competitions.
He also took the opportunity to congratulate Algeria’s representatives in African competitions, USM Alger and CR Belouizdad, on their well-deserved qualification for the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, wishing them success in the remainder of the competition and reaffirming the League’s continuous support for Algerian clubs participating at the continental level.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Algerian Football Federation, Mr. Nadir Bouznad, praised the significant efforts made by the League to ensure the smooth running of the professional championship despite the various challenges facing the football scene, affirming the full support of the Federation, under the leadership of its President Mr. Walid Sadi, and its constant commitment to supporting the League in implementing its programs and initiatives aimed at developing professional football in Algeria.
The session also included the presentation of a detailed video highlighting the League’s activities and achievements during 2025, allowing members to review key challenges and results. Subsequently, the reports were put to a vote, and the General Assembly unanimously approved the administrative and financial reports for 2025, as well as the provisional budget for 2026, clearly renewing confidence in the League’s executive board.
The General Assembly concluded in a positive atmosphere, with an emphasis on the need to intensify collective efforts to raise the level during the upcoming phase.
