FIFA Arab Cup 2025: The Greens Fall on Penalties (6–7) Against the United Arab Emirates

The Algerian national team bowed out of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 after losing on penalties (7–6) to the United Arab Emirates in the quarterfinal match played on Friday, December 12, at Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Al Khor.

The Greens dominated the proceedings from the outset and created several clear chances, while two of their goals were ruled out for offside in the first half.

At the start of the second half, Boulbina opened the scoring in the 46th minute following a well-executed team move.

However, the UAE team equalized in the 61st minute through Bruno Oliveira, and the score remained level until the end of regulation time and extra time, despite efforts from both sides to decide the match.

The two teams eventually resorted to a penalty shootout, which went in favor of the UAE, as their players converted seven penalties compared to six for the Greens.
