Meeting of the Federal Bureau by Videoconference

The President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Mr. Walid SADI, convened the Federal Bureau in an ordinary session on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. via videoconference.

In his opening address, the FAF President praised the continued commitment of football stakeholders to keep the discipline attractive and popular. He stressed the importance of this meeting, held on the eve of a new sporting season that brings hopes and challenges for national football. He emphasized that this occasion must reaffirm the Federation’s determination to drive a new dynamic in the development of Algerian football.

In this regard, he urged the leagues to ensure that competitions begin in an atmosphere of fairness, discipline, and professionalism, with a strong focus on rigorous organization so that stadiums remain places of joy and conviviality. He also called on all stakeholders – clubs, supporters, and institutions – to fully commit to fair play and the sporting spirit.

Mr. Walid SADI reassured the clubs that the Federation is committed to supporting both clubs and leagues in their modernization, training, and professionalization efforts, in order to raise the level of the discipline and ensure its sustainable development. He reminded that strong football cannot exist without solid and well-managed structures.

In conclusion, the FAF President mentioned the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifiers of the national team, calling on supporters to continue accompanying it with determination and consistency so that Algeria may always shine on both the African and global stages.

I – Activities of the Leagues

1.1 – Professional Football League (LFP):
The Federal Bureau heard a presentation by Mr. El Amine MESLOUG, President of the Professional Football League, covering several points, notably:

  • The championship has reached its second round, and matches have generally taken place under good conditions.

  • At the end of the registration period, an initial review was presented regarding the compliance of clubs with the annual wage bill ceiling. Most clubs complied, with a few exceptions, which will be reviewed by the financial control commission.

  • The implementation of the new professional player contract model has been a clear success.

  • A training day was held on August 18, 2025, for match commissioners, during which recommendations were made to reinforce rigor in match supervision.

  • Licensing has been fully digitized since the start of the season, with FAFConnect replacing paper licenses.

1.2 – Situation of the leagues:
The Federal Bureau adopted the following resolutions:

  • The registration period for the two leagues (LNFA and LIRF) is extended until September 15, 2025, while their championships will begin on September 13, 2025.

  • Clubs that have not yet paid their registration fees to the LNFA will not be authorized to compete, in accordance with regulations. These are: JS Tixeraine – US Béchar Djedid – USM Harrach – RC Arbaa – CR Temouchent – HB Chleghoum Laïd – NRB Teleghma – CR Beni Thour – MO Constantine – AS Khroub.

  • Clubs banned from registering are required to regularize their situation without delay, in line with FIFA circular 1843.

II – National Teams

2.1 – National Team A:

  • The “A” national team will regroup at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa from September 1 to 9, 2025, in preparation for two FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying matches:

    • Algeria vs. Botswana – September 4, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. – Hocine Ait Ahmed Stadium, Tizi Ouzou.

    • Guinea vs. Algeria – September 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. – Casablanca Stadium.

  • The Federal Bureau expressed its support for the coaching staff and players, committing to provide all necessary means to achieve qualification.

III – National Technical Directorate

Mr. Ali MOUCER, National Technical Director, presented a report that was approved, including:
(training camps for U20, U17, Women’s U20, CAF A License modules, futsal national team, regional director candidacies, etc., as in the original text).

IV – Federal Commissions

4.1 – Finance Commission:

  • Approval of:

    • The new compensation scale for referees and VAR technicians.

    • Establishment of the Procurement Commission and the Commission for Opening and Evaluating Bids.

4.2 – Medical/Anti-doping Commission:

  • Approval of a program of 1,000 doping tests during the 2025/2026 season.

VI – General Administration

At the end of the session, the Federal Bureau approved the measures taken in the framework of current affairs and the general administration of the Algerian Football Federation.
